TV host, producer, writer, editor, journalist, and communications expert Barbara Balfour was born and raised in Calgary, Canada. Her career has taken her around the globe, with time spent living and working in Belgium, Japan, and Canada. In 2006, Barbara Balfour published two children’s books. The first, titled “Thanksgiving Day,” explores the history of the holiday and describes the various ways it is celebrated. Tailored for children aged 8–10, the book introduces young readers to the culture and traditions of this American celebration. The second book, “Great White Sharks,” details the characteristics, behavior, and diet of these marine predators. Intended for children aged 7–9, it helps them learn more about the underwater world and its inhabitants. Additionally, her writing experience includes editing an anthology of essays on the relationship between Canada and the European Union and writing articles for The Economist Group.
